OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
MAKING FINDINGS RELATING TO A PETITION FOR AN
ANNEXATION ELECTION FOR PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE
VINE-LAPORTE-TAFT ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, heretofore, a written petition was filed with the City Clerk
requesting an election to determine whether property should be annexed to
the City of Fort Collins, said property situate in the County of Larimer
and State of Colorado, and more particularly described as follows
A tract of land situate in the County of Larimer, State
of Colorado, to-wit Situate in the Northeast 1/4 of
Section 9, Township 7 North, Range 69 West of the Sixth
P M , Larimer County, Colorado, which, considering the
South line of said Northeast 1/4 as bearing N 89039' 15"
W and with all bearings contained herein relative
thereto, is contained within the boundary lines which
begin at a point which bears N 00002123" E 380 78 feet
from the East 1/4 corner of said Section 9 and run
thence N 89038' W 629 67 feet, thence S 07000' E 57 25
feet, thence S 21046' E 29 26 feet, thence N 89°39' 15"
W 382 07 feet, thence S 00°20'45" W 267 00 feet, thence
N 89039' 15" W 622 00 feet, thence S 00020'45" W 30 00
feet thence N 89039115" W 755 28 feet, thence N
00009' 15" W 294 90 feet, thence N 89039' 15" W 240 00
feet thence N 00009' 15" W 365 72 feet, thence S

said Section 9, thence S 00002123" W 2266 94 feet to
the point of beginning, containing 86 7511 acres, more
or less,
and
WHEREAS, the Council is required by law to make certain findings
relative to said petition
j NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows
j Section 1 That the City Council finds and determines that the
petition for annexation election was filed pursuant to Section 31-12-107,
Colorado Revised Statutes, 1973, as amended and fuither was filed at lea t

ten (10) days prior to the hearing date set for the annexation petition for
the Vine-LaPorte-Taft Annexation and therefore said election petition, in
accordance with Section 31-12-107 (3), Colorado Revised Statutes, 1973, as
amended, shall take precedence over said annexation petition
Section 2 That the City Council finds and determines that said
annexation election petition contains signatures of at least ten percent
(10%) of the qualified electors of the area proposed to be annexed and
further finds and determines that said election petition is in all other
respects in substantial compliance with Section 31-12-107, Colorado Revised
Statutes, 1973, as amended
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 5th day of Aug t , 1980
