HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-035-03/09/1982-AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT RESOLUTION 82- 35 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN INTER- GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins desires to sponsor a regional tour of the Pacific Northwest Ballet at a cost of Thirty-Eight Thousand Dollars ($38,000), and WHEREAS, the National Endowment for the Arts, a non-profit organiza- tion designed to promote the arts, has provided a grant to the City of Fort Collins in the amount of Five Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($5,700) to offset the cost of the tour of the Pacific Northwest Ballet, and WHEREAS, while the City of Fort Collins will be the sponsor of the tour and thus responsible for payment to the Ballet, performances have also been scheduled for the cities of Pueblo, Rock Springs, and Cheyenne, and each of those cities, by this Intergovernmental Agreement, shall obligate itself to pay to the City of Fort Collins the sum of Six Thousand Four Hundred Sixty Dollars ($6,460) per performance scheduled in each City, and WHEREAS, in the considered opinion of the Council of the City of Fort Collins, it is in the best interest of the city in the advancement of the performing arts that this Agreement be entered into NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Cities of Pueblo, Rock Springs, and Cheyenne for the purpose of sharing the cost of sponsor- ship of the Pacific Northwest Ballet as above described Passed and adopted at an adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held this 9th day of March, 1982 e a Ma or ATTEST �N" City Clerk
