HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-038-03/16/1982-RELATIVE TO THE VOTING STRUCTURE OF THE MUNICIPAL PLANNING ORGANIZATION'S URBAN AREAS POLICY COMMITT RESOLUTION 82-38 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATIVE TO THE VOTING STRUCTURE OF THE MUNICIPAL PLANNING ORGANIZATION'S URBAN AREAS POLICY COMMITTEE FOR LONG RANGE PLANNING WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 81-183 , the Council of the City of Fort Collins authorized the voting structure of the Municipal Planning Organization on all matters, and WHEREAS, members of the Municipal Planning Organization are now of the opinion that the voting structure, with regards to the Urban Area Policies Committee for Long Range Planning, should be changed to reflect the respec- tive populations of Fort Collins, Loveland and the unincorporated areas of Larimer County, and WHEREAS, according to the 1980 decennial census the City of Fort Collins' population is 65,092 , the City of Loveland' s population is 30 ,244 , and the County of Larimer' s population in the unincorporated areas is 28,586 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the proposed change to the voting structure of the Urban Area Policies Committee of the Municipal Planning Organization authorizing 5 votes to the City of Fort Collins, 3 votes to the City of Loveland, and 2 votes to Larimer County be, and the same hereby is, recommended for ap- proval BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that that certain representative appointed by the City Council to represent the City' s interests by serving on the Urban Areas Policy Committee for Long Range Planning be, and he hereby is, vested with the authority to cast all 5 votes on behalf of the City of Fort Collins Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held this 16th day of March, 1982 Ma r ATTEST City Clerk
