OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE
MASON CORRIDOR TRAIL EXTENSION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation ("CDOT")has awarded the City
a grant in the amount of$545,000 with local matching funds in the amount of$140,000 for a total
budget of$685,000, for the Mason Corridor Trail Extension project (the"Project'); and
WHEREAS, the Project will fund the final design, right-of-way, and construction costs to
connect the Mason Trail Extension north from the Spring Creek Trail to the Colorado State
University campus; and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that this extension of the Mason Street Trail
northward from the Spring Creek Trail is consistent with the adopted Master Plan for the Mason
Corridor Project and completes the connection between the Fossil Creek Trail and Colorado State
University; and
WHEREAS,the Council has further determined that it is in the best interests of the City that
the intergovernmental agreement between the City and CDOT be executed in order for the City to
receive grant funding for the Project.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with CDOT in order for
the City to receive grant funding in the amount of$545,000 with City matching funds in the amount
of$140,000 for a total budget of$685,000 for the Mason Corridor Trail Extension Project.
