OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION BY THE CITY MANAGER OF
AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND TRANSPLAN ASSOCIATES
FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING A TRAFFIC SIGNAL
CONTROL SYSTEM COMMUNICATION ALTERNATIVE ANALYSIS
WHEREAS, the Transportation Services Unit has received approval from
the Colorado Department of Highways to utilize Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars
(E25 ,000) of its 1982-83 Federal Aid to Urban Systems (FAUS) funds for the
development of a Traffic Signal Control System Communication Alternative
Analysis, and
WHEREAS, the objective of this project is to provide the City with the
most efficient and cost effective communication system to connect the
central traffic signal computer with the traffic signal installations
throughout the City, and
WHEREAS, the said analysis will include a preliminary design to be
implemented by the City in the continued expansion of the signal system
together with an engineering analysis to compare various communication
types and the applicability of each to the computer systems, and basic
instruction in data communication and communication principles and oper-
ations, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has determined that
it is in the best interests of the City that such an agreement be executed
between the City and Transplan Associates
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an agreement, on behalf of the City, with Transplan Associates for the
development of a Traffic Signal Control System Communication Alternative
Analysis, as herein above described, for a total cost to the City of
Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars (E25,000)
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
7th day of June, A D 1983
