OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE DOWNTOWN
DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND LANDMARK/MITCHELL
CONCERNING CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A
DOWNTOWN HOTEL/CONVENTION CENTER
WHEREAS , there has been a long standing desire by the community
to have a hotel/convention center in the downtown; and
WHEREAS, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has conducted
market studies concerning the feasibility of locating a hotel/ convention
center in the downtown; and
WHEREAS, an independent consultant has conducted a market study
to determine the viability of a downtown hotel/convention center, which
study has been reviewed by the City and the Downtown Development Authority;
and
WHEREAS, said consultant is in the process of updating said study to
reflect the current conditions; and
WHEREAS, the DDA has entered into agreement with Landmark/Mitchell for
development of a downtown hotel ; and
WHEREAS , the developer needs assurances of the City' s interest
in and desire for such a facility; and
WHEREAS , the City is requested to participate in the financing
and development of the facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the agreement between the Downtown Development Authority and
Landmark/Mitchell is hereby approved and authorizes the City Manager to
approve and accept the same on behalf of the City.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 17th day of April , A.D. 1984.
