RESOLUTION 84-138
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH ROBERT E. ROSS FOR
THE LEASE OF AN OFFICE/MAINTENANCE FACILITY
LOCATED AT 120 HEMLOCK
WHEREAS, it is necessary for reasons of health and safety to relocate
City personnel located in the Car Barn property presently leased by the
City; and
WHEREAS, City staff has researched several possible locations within
reasonable driving distances from the building core area of the City of
Fort Collins ; and
WHEREAS, the building owned by Robert E. Ross, located at 120 Hemlock
meets the spatial , electrical , mechanical and vehicle storage requirements
necessary to replace the Car Barn facility and is the only suitable pro-
perty available to be leased; and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the proposed lease negotiated
by the City staff for the rental of 8100 square feet for $3.00 per square
foot per year plus utilities is reasonable; and
WHEREAS, the term of the said lease extends for two (2) years with two
additional one-year extensions, and with the additional right of early
termination by the City upon development by the City of its own facility;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City Council approves any lease with
a term longer than two (2) years .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an lease agreement with Robert E. Ross for the lease of an office/
maintenance facility located at 120 Hemlock for the lease amount of $3.00/
sq ft/year plus utilities and upon such other terms and conditions as are
above described.
