HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-137-09/04/1984-AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH BLACK AND VEATCH ENGINEERS FOR DESIGN AND RESOLUTION 84- 137 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH BLACK AND VEATCH ENGINEERS FOR DESIGN AND INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE 20 MGD EXPANSION AT WATER TREATMENT PLANT NO. 2 AND RELATED TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES WHEREAS, on July 17, 1984, the Council of the City of Fort Collins passed Resolution 84-112 authorizing City staff to negotiate an engineering services contract with Black and Veatch Engineers for the design and inspection of the 20 mgd expansion at Water Treatment Plant No. 2 (WTP #2) and related transmission and distribution facilities; and WHEREAS, City staff has negotiated with Black and Veatch for all predesign and final design services for the 20 mgd expansion at WTP #2 and related transmission and distribution facilities for the lump sum of $1,097,000 plus, on a time and direct cost basis for remaining engineering services and direct non-salary expenses and subconsultants an estimated sum of $470,500 for a total estimate contract amount of $1,567,500; and WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated Two Million Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500,000) for expenditure in the Capital Projects Fund for engineering services regarding the 20 mgd expansion at WTP #2 and the related transmission and distribution facilities ; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-66 of the City of Fort Collins, no contract for professional services in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council in an open Council meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into a contract for professional services with Black and Veatch Engineers for the design and inspection of the 20 mgd expansion at Water Treatment Plant No. 2 and related transmission and distribution facilities, said services to be performed by Black and Veatch Engineers for the estimated sum of $1,567,500.
