RESOLUTION 84-188
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AN AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE BURLINGTON NORTHERN
RAILROAD COMPANY PROPERTY ADJACENT TO LEE
MARTINEZ PARK TO BE DEVELOPED AS A PART
OF THE FARM PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins supports the enhance-
ment of the quality of life of the citizens of the City of Fort Collins;
and
WHEREAS, the Council has previously authorized the development of the
Farm Project at Lee Martinez Park ; and
WHEREAS, during the development process for the Farm, it was dis-
covered that an approximate one-half acre parcel of land thought to be
owned by the City and planned for construction was actually owned by the
Burlington Northern Railroad Company; and
WHEREAS, The Burlington Northern Railroad Company is willing to convey
luch land to the City for a total price of two thousand five hundred
dollars ($2,500) ; and
WHEREAS, funds for the aforesaid purchase are available in the Lee
Martinez Park Development Budget; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council that said purchase
is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Fort Collins.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an agreement for the purchase by the City of approximately one-half
acre of property owned by the Burlington Northern Railroad Company, which
is adjacent to Lee Martinez Park for the purpose of farm development, said
property to be purchased for the total of two thousand five hundred dollars
($2,500) to be paid in one lump sum.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
18th day of December, A.D. 1984 .
