OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AN EXTENSION OF THE AGREEMENT FOR EXTERNAL
AUDIT SERVICES FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR
WHEREAS, the City Council Finance Committee met recently to discuss
the 1985 Annual Audit; and
WHEREAS, staff requested that the Committee consider the extension of
the agreement for external audit services with Erickson, Hunt and Spillman,
P. C. for a period of one year; and
WHEREAS, this extension would provide continuity while the automated
financial reporting system is fully implemented; and
WHEREAS , the Finance Committee recommends that the extension be
entered into and that the 1985 Finance Committee request proposals for
auditing services for 1985 and subsequent years; and
WHEREAS, audit fees for 1984 will not exceed Forty-Seven Thousand Two
Hundred Dollars ($47 ,200) ; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-66 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins stipu-
lates that any agreement for professional services in excess of Twenty
Thousand Dollars ($20,000) must be approved by City Council in an open
Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an extension of the agreement with Erickson, Hunt and Spillman, P. C.
for external audit services for a period of one year with a fee for ser-
vices not to exceed Forty-Seven Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($47,200).
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City
of Fort Collins held this 4th day of December, 1984.
