OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AN ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
HASTINGS & CHIVETTA ARCHITECTS, INC.
FOR DESIGN SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH
THE INDOOR POOL/ICE RINK
WHEREAS, on May 1, 1984, the citizens of Fort Collins passed a 1144
sales tax for five years for the design and construction of an indoor
pool/ice rink; and
WHEREAS, this recreation facility is to be constructed substantially
similar to that as originally designed for the City of Fort Collins in 1979
by Hastings & Chivetta Architects, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, Hastings & Chivetta Architects , Inc. was selected to perform
such design services in 1979 using the City' s standard selection process ;
and
WHEREAS, Hastings & Chivetta Architects , Inc. has assembled an
excellent staff of consultants , including planning, civil , structural ,
mechanical and electrical disciplines , which include the same personnel
which were involved with the project in 1979; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of Fort Collins
that Hastings & Chivetta Architects, Inc. be selected to perform said
design services at this time; and
WHEREAS, Hastings & Chivetta, Architects , Inc. proposes to perform
the design services needed in connection with the Indoor Pool/Ice Rink at
this time for a fixed fee in the amount of Three Hundred and Fifty-One
Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($351,900) , which includes Three Hundred
and Thirty-One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($331,500) for design fees and
Twenty Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($20,400) for reimbursables; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-66 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council
in an open Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an Architectural Services Agreement with Hastings & Chivetta Archi-
tects , Inc. , for design services in connection with the Indoor Pool/Ice
Rink for the sum of Three Hundred and Fifty One Thousand Nine Hundred
Dollars ($351,900) , which includes Three Hundred and Thirty-One Thousand
Five Hundred Dollars ($331,500) for design fees and Twenty Thousand Four
Hundred Dollars ($20,400) for reimbursables .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 30th day of October 1984.
