ENDORSING H.R. 5185 DESIGNATING PORTIONS
OF THE CACHE LA POUDRE RIVER
AS WILD, SCENIC, OR RECREATIONAL
WHEREAS, Congressman Brown appointed a broad-based blue ribbon commit-
tee of environmentalists, water developers and users, and leading area
citizens of the 4th Congressional District to study the matter of desig-
nating portions of this river as wild, scenic or recreational ; and
WHEREAS, after careful study and deliberation the committee reached
unanimous agreement on designating large sections of the river as wild,
scenic or recreational ; and
WHEREAS, Congressman Brown has introduced H.R. 5185 for passage by the
congress and the President of the United States of America.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, that the City Council endorses House Bill 5185 designating por-
tions of the Cache La Poudre River as wild, scenic or recreational .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Fort Collins City Council urges
passage of House Bill 5158 in its current form.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of-the City Council held this
3rd day of April , A.D. 1984.
