OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF
FIBERGLASS VAULTS AND ACCESSORIES FROM
MESA FIBERGLASS PRODUCTS COMPANY
WHEREAS, Robert Kost, Chief Planning and Operations Engineer, invented
the fiberglass vault system used by the City of Fort Collins, which vault
systems are patented and are manufactured by Mesa Fiberglass Company;
and
WHEREAS, the only present manufacturer of said fiberglass vault
systems is Mesa Fiberglass Products Company which has made a substantial
plant investment in the forms required to produce each component; and
WHEREAS, considerable time delays would be involved in the process of
enabling other fiberglass manufacturing companies to manufacture said
vaults, possibly creating difficulties for the City in procuring vaults for
current requirements; and
WHEREAS for the foregoing reasons the Council has determined that it

is in the best interest of the City to purchase fiberglass vaults and
accessories for 1984 requirements from Mesa Fiberglass Products Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be and he hereby is authorized to purchase
fiberglass vaults and accessories to meet the 1984 requirements of the City
for said vaults from Mesa Fiberglass Products Company as a sole supplier
of said fiberglass vaults and accessories.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
3rd day of April , A.D. 1984.
