RESOLUTION 84-59
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT WITH LARIMER COUNTY WHEREBY LARIMER
COUNTY WILL PROVIDE SERVICES TO PARTICIPANTS
IN THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS REACH PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins desires to facilitate
the administration of the REACH program for the benefit of the citizens of
the City; and
WHEREAS, Larimer County has expressed its desire to assist in pro-
viding weatherization services to persons living in Larimer County, in-
cluding persons living within the City of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, the County currently provides services of this type in both
Larimer and Weld counties , utilizing federal , state and local funds;
and
WHEREAS, both the City and the County provide services for the citi-
zens of the City and wish to avoid duplication of services and maintain a
high level of stewardship of the public funds; and
WHEREAS, Article XIV, Section 18 of the Constitution of the State of
Colorado, and statutes enacted pursuant thereto, provide that the City and
the County may cooperate together to provide any function lawfully autho-
rized to each; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins desires to enter into
an intergovernmental agreement with Larimer County for the purpose of
administration of the City of Fort Collins REACH program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to execute an inter-
governmental agreement between the City and Larimer County whereby the
County will perform certain services to participants in said REACH program,
all in accordance with the terms and conditions of said intergovernmental
agreement and the REACH program as it has been established by the City.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 3rd day of April , A. D. 1984.
