OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF SUCH FUNDS AS ARE
REASONABLE AND PRUDENT TO ACCOMPLISH THE
DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION RELATIVE TO THE ANNEXATION
AND ZONING OF PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE ALLEN-LIND-MOORE ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS A PORTION OF WHICH IS
UNDER CONTRACT TO PURCHASE BY ANHEUSER-BUSCH, INC.
FOR USE AS A BREWERY FACILITY
WHEREAS, on February 21 , 1984, the Council of the City of Fort Collins
adopted an Ordinance referring to the voters of the City of Fort Collins
Ordinance No. 21 , 1984, concerning the annexation and zoning of property
known as the Allen-Lind-Moore Annexation; and
WHEREAS, the Colorado Campaign Reform Act provides that state politi-
cal subdivision may make contributions or contributions in kind in cam-
paigns involving issues in which they have official concern, which have
been previously defined to include the dissemination of objective and
factual information; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and staff are desirous of complying with the
letter and the spirit of that law; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the City of Fort Collins will be
required to disseminate information regarding the proposed annexation and
zoning; and
and WHEREAS, this issue is one in which the City has official concern;
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins wishes to authorize
the expenditure of funds as may be necessary to effectuate the dissem-
ination of said information.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Council hereby authorizes the dissemination of existing
City materials concerning the Allen-Lind-Moore Annexation and all existing
materials concerning any agreements between the City of Fort Collins and
Anhueser-Busch, Inc. and to expend such staff time and resources as is
reasonable and prudent to provide objective factual information pertaining
to the same.
