OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF LARIMER
COUNTY FOR THE REMOVAL OF TREES
ALONG THE CACHE LA POUDRE RIVER
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Council of the City of Fort
Collins that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City that
certain trees be removed along certain reaches of the Cache La Poudre River
prior to the commencement of the Spring, 1984 snow melt; and
WHEREAS, Larimer County, Colorado has determined that it is equally to
the benefit of the citizens of the County to accomplish tree removal
activities along the Cache La Poudre River from the mouth of the canyon to
the rivers' crossing of Interstate Highway 25; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of both the City and the County
that such tree removal activities be conducted jointly; and
WHEREAS, the County has agreed to utilize its bidding process for the
purpose of selection and engagement of a contractor for the removal of said
trees; and
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of making available for said tree
removal activity the maximum sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) to
be utilized in deferring the cost of tree removal along the channel of the
Cache La Poudre River from the mouth of the canyon to the river' s crossing
of Interstate Highway 25.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf
of the City, an intergovernmental agreement with the Board of Commissioners
of Larimer County, Colorado, making available the maximum sum of Fifteen
Thousand Dollars ($15 ,000) for the purpose of deferring expenses in
connection with the removal of trees along the channel of the Cache La
Poudre River from the mouth of the canyon to the river' s crossing of
Interstate Highway 25 as such expenses are incurred by the County pursuant
to contract to be entered into between the County and a tree removal
contractor, and upon such terms and conditions as are contained in the
intergovernmental agreement herein authorized.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 21st day of ry, A.D. 1984.
