OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE NATIONAL OCEANIC
AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ESTABLISHING SURVEY POINTS
WHEREAS, the National Oceanic and Atomspheric Administration (Adminis-
tration) is a division of the government of the United States of America;
and
WHEREAS, the Administration desires to establish a line of accurate
survey level points along the Front Range upon condition that the various
municipalities benefiting from such survey level points assist the Adminis-
tration in defraying the costs of the establishment of said points; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of such points through Fort Collins will
provide accurate reference points for local government and private survey-
ers, and will improve the accuracy of subdivision design, water and sewer
extensions, aerial mapping, flood plain evaluation and regulation and
other programs that rely on accurate horizontal and vertical relationships;
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has determined
that it is in the best interest of the City and its citizens that the City
support the establishment of a line of very accurate survey level points
through the City of Fort Collins by contribution of a sum not to exceed
Five Thousand Three Hundred and Ten Dollars ($5,310) to the Administra-
tion for the purpose of establishing said line.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be and he hereby is authorized to enter into
an intergovernmental agreement with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration for the purpose of providing City funds in an amount not
to exceed Five Thousand Three Hundred and Ten Dollars ($5,310) to help
defray costs incurred by the Administration in establishing a line of
accurate survey level points along College Avenue in the City of Fort
Collins.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
21st day of February, A. D. 1984.
