OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE FORT COLLINS
CONVENTION AND VISITORS' BUREAU
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has authorized the
City Manager to enter into an agreement with the Fort Collins Convention
and Visitors' Bureau; and
WHEREAS, convention and tourist activities are a clean base industry,
generating new income to the local economy; and
WHEREAS, an organized Convention and Visitors' Bureau can offer
professional promotion and coordinated marketing efforts; and
WHEREAS, Bureau activities can attract new conventions and extend the
visits of tourists and visitors to Fort Collins resulting in increased tax
revenues; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins collects a Lodging Tax and has
authorized the expenditure of a portion of those revenues to be allocated
to the contract for services with the Bureau; and
WHEREAS, due to the public funds allocated to the Bureau, Council is
authorized to make six appointments to the Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, a position representing the community at-large is vacant due
to the untimely death of Terry Sarazin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the following person is hereby appointed to the Fort Collins
Convention and Visitors' Bureau to represent the community at-large for a
term to expire as set forth below:
