OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE FORT COLLINS URBAN GROWTH AREA
TO INCLUDE APPROXIMATELY 1,360 ACRES OF PRIVATELY OWNED PROPERTY
LOCATED WEST OF OVERLAND TRAIL
WHEREAS, on August 3, 1983, the County of Larimer and the City of Fort
Collins executed an INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR THE FORT COLLINS URBAN
GROWTH AREA for the purpose of establishing a formal mechanism to manage
growth in the area surrounding the City of Fort Collins, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, EXHIBIT B, Section III, Part E of said Agreement establishes
criteria for amending Urban Growth Area boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the staffs of Larimer County and the City of Fort Collins have
prepared a report presenting justifications for amending the Urban Growth
Area boundary at this location; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins Planning and Zoning Board conducted a
public hearing on May 19, 1986, for the purpose of reviewing the proposed
boundary change and soliciting public comment concerning the same, and
voted to recommend approval of the boundary change to the City Council ; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins concludes that the
gross residential density of development within the area to be added by
this resolution should be closely controlled to the extent legally
permissible; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins conducted a public
hearing on August 19, 1986, for the purposes of reviewing the proposed
boundary change and soliciting public comment concerning the same; and
WHEREAS, having heard the comments of the public and considered the
proposed boundary revision to said Agreement, the Council of the City of
Fort Collins does hereby find that said proposed boundary amendment is in
the best interests of the citizens of the City, and, accordingly, ought to
be incorporated into said Intergovernmental Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the proposed boundary revision to the Urban Growth Area as
specifically presented in the report prepared by the staffs of Larimer
County and the City of Fort Collins, a description of which revision is
attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, be and is hereby
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized
to execute an amended Intergovernmental Agreement between the City and
Larimer County reflecting said revisions.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
19th day of August, A.D. 1986.
