OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT CONTINUING
THE EXISTENCE OF THE POUDRE FIRE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins and the Poudre Valley Fire
Protection District entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement on December
22, 1981, providing for the formation of an independent governmental entity
known as the Poudre Fire Authority for the purpose of providing fire and
rescue services within the respective territorial limits of the parties
thereto; and
WHEREAS, said Agreement terminates on December 31, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to continue the existence of the Poudre
Fire Authority on terms similar to those originally agreed upon; and
WHEREAS, the Poudre Fire Authority Board of Directors has recommended
that the City and the District enter into a new Intergovernmental
Agreement, to become effective on January 1, 1988.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into a new
Intergovernmental Agreement with the Poudre Valley Fire Protection
District, for the purpose of continuing the existence of the Poudre Fire
Authority.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 3rd day of November, A.D. 1987.
