HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-148-10/21/1997-AMENDING MAP CITY STRUCTURE PLAN INTERSTATE LANDS PROPERTY REZONING RESOLUTION 97-148 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AMENDING THE "CITY STRUCTURE PLAN" MAP CHANGING THE DESIGNATION OF A PORTION OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF I-25 AND PROSPECT ROAD FROM A LOW-DENSITY NEIGHBORHOOD TO AN EMPLOYMENT DISTRICT WHEREAS, on July 2, 1996, by Resolution 96-79, the City Council adopted the "City Structure Plan" dated June 26, 1996, and on March 18, 1997, by Resolution 97-44, the City Council amended the City Structure Plan to address issues raised by property owners regarding the proposed new zoning of their properties; and WHEREAS, the City Structure Plan illustrates in a simplified diagram the basic kinds of "places" that make up the City, including neighborhoods, districts, corridors and edges and is a general graphic illustration of the overall vision of the City, and a guide for determining more specific policies, programs and projects necessary to implement such vision; and WHEREAS, as a part of the original rezoning process which culminated in the adoption of Ordinance No. 52, 1997, adopting a new zoning map for the City, certain issues arose regarding the zoning considered to be most appropriate for that certain property located at the northwest corner of the intersection of I-25 and Prospect Road,hereafter referred to as the"Interstate Lands Property"; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that a portion of said Interstate Lands Property should appropriately have been placed in zone districts different than those originally contemplated in Ordinance No. 52, 1997; and WHEREAS, the Council has further determined that the City Structure Plan Map should accordingly be amended with respect thereto by describing a certain portion of the Interstate Lands Property as being changed from a"Low Density Neighborhood"to an "Employment District." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS,that the City Structure Plan Map, dated June 26, 1996, a copy of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk,is hereby amended by the City Council by changing a portion of that certain property known as the "Interstate Lands Property" from a Low-Density Mixed Use Neighborhood to an Employment District as more particularly described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
