OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING RESOLUTION 2000-123 PERTAINING TO THE PROCESS
FOR EVALUATING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CITY MANAGER,
CITY ATTORNEY AND MUNICIPAL JUDGE
WHEREAS, on October 17, 2000, the City Council adopted Resolution 2000-123
establishing a process for evaluating the performance of the City Manager, City Attorney and
Municipal Judge; and
WHEREAS, having utilized such process, the Council has identified the need for two
changes to the process and wishes to amend Resolution 2000-123 accordingly.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That Section 1.(E)of Resolution 2000-123 shall be amended so as to read in
its entirety as follows:
E. On or before October 15 of each year, the Human Resources Director shall
provide to the Council and each Employee pertinent information regarding
the total compensation paid to the persons holding comparable positions of
employment in other comparable Colorado Front Range cities,together with
any other information that may be considered pertinent by the Council or the
Employees. No less than one calendar week prior to their evaluations, the
Employees shall provide to the Council their compensation requests for the
ensuing year, together with any proposed contract revisions.
Section 2. That Section 1.(F)of Resolution 2000-123 shall be amended so as to read in
its entirety as follows:
F. Any change in the compensation of the Employees for the ensuing calendar
year shall be approved by the Council by ordinance. Said ordinance shall be
adopted by the Council in sufficient time for the change in compensation to
take effect as of the first full pay period of the ensuing year. In the event that
the Council and either Employee agree upon any revisions to said Employee's
employment contract for the ensuing year, a resolution approving such
revision(s) shall be adopted upon first or second reading of the ordinance.
Section 3. That Section 2.(G)of Resolution 2000-123 shall be amended so as to read in
its entirety as follows:
G. On or before October 15 of each year, the Human Resources Director shall
provide to the Council and the Municipal Judge pertinent information
regarding the total compensation paid to the municipal judges of other
comparable Colorado Front Range cities,together with any other information
that may be considered pertinent by the Council or the Municipal Judge. No
less than one calendar week prior to his or her evaluation, the Municipal
Judge shall provide to the Council his or her compensation request for the
ensuing year, together with any proposed contract revisions.
Section 4. That Section 2.(H)of Resolution 2000-123 shall be amended so as to read in
its entirety as follows:
H. Any change in the compensation of the Municipal Judge for the ensuing
calendar year shall be approved by the Council by ordinance. Said ordinance
shall be adopted by the Council in sufficient time for the change in
compensation to take effect as of the first full pay period of the ensuing year.
In the event that the Council and the Municipal Judge agree upon any
revisions to the Municipal Judge's employment contract for the ensuing year,
a resolution approving such revision(s) shall be adopted upon first or second
reading of the ordinance.
Section 5. Except as herein above amended, Resolution 2000-123 shall remain in full
force and effect.
