OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING A CONGESTION
MITIGATION.AND AIR QUALITY GRANT IN SUPPORT OF THE FC BIKES PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has awarded a
Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant to the City in the amount of $704,128
which grant requires the City to provide local matching funds in the amount of$146,372: and
WHEREAS, the grant awarded by CDOT will support the FC Bikes Program initiatives
allowing for the refinement and expansion of existing services, including enhancements to
bicycle safety education programs, expansion of encouragement campaigns and bicycle program
initiatives, while also supporting the development and implementation of the 2014 Fort Collins
Bicycle Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City's local matching portion was appropriated by the City Council on
Ordinance No. 030, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Section 1-22 of the City Code requires, with certain exceptions,
intergovernmental agreements to be submitted to the City Council for review and approval by
ordinance or resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the CMAQ grant from CDOT in the
amount of$704,128 is in the best interests of the City and that the Mayor should be authorized to
execute a grant agreement in support thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement between the
City and CDOT for the purpose of obtaining a CMAQ grant in support of the FC Bikes Program
in the sum of$704,128 with local matching funds in the amount of$146,372.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins this
18th day of March, A.D. 2014.
