OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE FORT COLLINS
HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, Section 2-247 of the City Code provides that the Housing Authority shall
consist of commissioners selected by the City Council in the manner provided by state statute; and
WHEREAS, the manner of selection specified in the statutes and in Section 2-247 permits
the Council to either appoint its own members to serve ex-officio as the commissioners of the
Authority or, in the alfernative, to appoint no more than nine commissioners, one of whom may be
a City official; and
WHEREAS, Section 29-4-205(3)(b)C.R.S. provides that the initial terms of the appointed
commissioners shall be staggered from the date of their appointments so that,to the extent possible,
the terms of an equal number of commissioners end each year and, thereafter, the term of the
commissioners shall be for five years; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Lisa Poppaw was appointed by the Council on May 1, 2007
to'serve a five-year term on the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners (the"Board"); and
WHEREAS,Councilmember Lisa Poppaw's term on the Board will expire on May 1,2012
and she has expressed a desire to be reappointed; and
WHEREAS,the Council wishes to fill the vacancy on the Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Councilmember Lisa Poppaw is hereby appointed as a member of the Board of
Commissioners of the Fort Collins Housing Authority,for a five-year term to begin on May 2,2012
and expire on May 1, 2017.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins this 17th
day of April A.D. 2012.
