HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-041-05/20/2014-APPROVING THE PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS THAT WILL RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT B RESOLUTION 2014-041 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROVING THE PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS THAT WILL RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMS, AND THE CITY'S AFFORDABLE HOUSING FUND WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and the Home Investment Partnership (HOME) Program are ongoing grant administration programs funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD); and WHEREAS, the City has received CDBG Program funds since 1975 and HOME Program-funds since 1994; and WHEREAS, the City's Affordable Housing Fund provides General Fund money for use in assisting affordable housing programs and projects; and WHEREAS, on January 18, 2000, the City Council approved Resolution 2000-13, formally adopting a competitive process for the allocation of City financial resources to affordable housing programs and projects, and community development activities; and WHEREAS, on April 10, 2014, the CDBG Commission met for the purpose of preparing a recommendation to the City Council as to which programs and projects should be funded with FY 2014 CDBG Entitlement Grant funds, a portion of FY2014 HOME Participating Jurisdiction grant funds and the City's 2014 HSP funds; and WHEREAS, as required by HUD regulations, a 30-day public comment period on the proposed allocation of CDBG and HOME funds as recommended by the CDBG Commission began on April 14, 2014, and ended on May 13, 2014; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the recommendations of the CDBG Commission, and has determined that the City's 2014 allocation should be made as set out in this Resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1.
