RESOLUTION 2016-013
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPOINTING TWO COUNCILMEMBERS TO SERVE AS REPRESENTATIVES
ON THE NORTH FRONT RANGE WASTESHED POLICY GROUP
WHEREAS, the Larimer County Landfill will reach capacity within the next ten years,
and extensive planning is essential to successfully transition into the future; and
WHEREAS, a regional Solid Waste/Resource Recovery Forum was held on Wednesday,
October 14, 2015, and two City Councilmembers participated on behalf of the City; and
WHEREAS, staff from Fort Collins' Environmental Services Department has been
participating on a North Front Range Wasteshed Planning Coalition since May 2015, along with
others from Larimer County, the City of Loveland, and the Town of Estes Park, and the State of
Colorado has provided grant funding for the planning effort; and
WHEREAS, the Larimer County Board of County Commissioners is now forming the
North Front Range Wasteshed Policy Group to provide policy guidance and input into the
planning process for regional waste management infrastructure to serve the future needs of North
Front Range citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appoint two Councilmembers to represent the
City of Fort Collins on the North Front Range Wasteshed Policy Group.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS, that Mayor Wade Troxell and Councilmember Ross Cunniff are hereby
appointed to attend and serve as the representatives for the City of Fort Collins on the North
Front Range Wasteshed Policy Group, until replacement representatives are designated by the
Council.
Passed and adopted at an adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins
this 9th day of February, A.D. 2016.
