HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-116-11/12/1970-DECLARING NOVEMBER 16, 1970, AS GREEN PENNANT DAY RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS DECLARING NOVEMBER 16, 1970, AS GREEN PENNANT DAY WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins, through its Police Department, cooperates with the elementary schools in the City of Fort .Collins in an attempt to diminish accidents among the students in such elementary schools; and WHEREAS, for several years there has been in effect the practice of having each elementary school display a green pennant to signify a lack of accidents, which said green pennants were distributed to such elementary schools by the Police Department of the City of Fort Collins; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that the awarding of a green pennant and the displaying of such green pennant is an incentive to the students in each elementary school in the City to avoid an accident; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that appropriate recognition should be made for an enterprise that will reduce the accident rate among the students in our elementary schools. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that November 16, 1970, is hereby declared to be Green Pennant Day in the City of Fort Collins.
