OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO,
ACTING AS THE LOCAL LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY CONCERNING
AN APPLICATION FOR A HOTEL AND RESTAURANT LIQUOR LICENSE
The application of Pryntha J Jones, for a hotel and restaurant
liquor license, came on for hearing before the City Council acting as the
Local Liquor Licensing Authority on November 16, 1972, in the Council Cham-
bers, City Hall, Fort Collins, Colorado, pursuant to notice duly given
as required by law
The Authority heretofore held a preliminary hearing and issued findings
in writing on said preliminary hearing and, having now heard the evidence
introduced and having examined the documents and exhibits introduced at
the hearing, and the members of the Authorfity having made such individual
investigation as they deemed necessary and being familiar with the neighborhood
to be served and the premises for which the license was requested, now
makes the following findings
1 The neighborhood to be served under this application is as defined
in the preliminary findings of the Authority
2 Nothing contained in CRS, 1963, Section 75-2-39 prohibits the
issuance of a license at the proposed location
3 The applicants are of good character and qualified under the
Ordinances of the City of Fort Collins and the laws of the State of Colorado
for the license applied for
4 The application is in proper form except that it appears that
the plans and specifications for the interior of the building may not be
adequate
5 Seven licenses of the type applied for have been previously
granted by the Authority within the neighborhood as defined in connection
with this application, two of which have been granted but not yet issued
because the premises in connection with such licenses have not yet been
completely constructed Five of such licenses are within one mile of the
proposed location, all of the same being in the downtown area of the City,
within easy walking distance of each other and the premises applied for
in this application No evidence was presented at the hearing that such
other locations are not capable of serving the needs of the neighborhood,
1
and it appears to the Authority that such existing licensed outlets do
adequately serve the needs of the neighborhood and the granting of the
within license is not necessary to serve such needs
6 Although not necessary to the determination of this application,
it appears to the Authority that the operation proposed by the applicant
would not be a restaurant but would be a saloon as prohibited by the Constitution
and the Laws of the State of Colorado
