RESOLUTION 81-152
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
TO APPROVE MASTER PLANS FOR
INTERNAL PARK DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board was established pursuant to
Ordinance No 51, 1965, and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board provides advice to the City
Council on a variety of issues involving the Department of Parks and
Recreation, and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board provides valuable citizen
involvement concerning the development of park facilities and recreational
programs, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation prepares Master Plans
for the internal development of parks, which plans are revie4ed through the
Planning and Development Department 's Conceptual Review process, and
WHEREAS, the members of the Parks and Recreation Board are aware of
the recreational needs of the residents of the City of Fort Collins
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS
Section 1 That the Parks and Recreation Board be, and it here-
by is, authorized to consider and approve Master Plans as prepared by the
Department of Parks and Recreation for the internal development of parks
Section 2 That the Department of Parks and Recreation prepare Master
Plans for the internal development of parks following the guidelines of the
Capital Project Management Control System, and utilizing the Planning and
Development Department's Conceptual Review process
Section 3 That the Parks and Recreation Board conduct a public
hearing before the consideration and approval of any Master Plan for the
internal development of community parks and neighborhood parks serving a
community-wide need
Section 4 That the Parks and Recreation Board shall , after review
and approval , send the approved Master Plan to the City Council for its
review
Section 5 That the authority granted the Parks and Recreation Board
to approve Park Master Plans is subject to review by the City Council , if
requested by the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Planning and
Development Department, Planning and Zoning Board, a resident of the
City of Fort Collins, or the City Council
