HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-004-02/02/2010-AMENDING THE CITY STRUCTURE PLAN MAP RESOLUTION 2010-004 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AMENDING THE CITY STRUCTURE PLAN MAP WHEREAS,City Council adopted Ordinance No. 137,2006,whereby the Southwest Enclave was annexed into the City subject to certain provisions requiring recording of annexation maps with Larimer County in four separate phases in a sequence over a period of eight years; and WHEREAS,the annexation map for Phase Three of the Southwest Enclave Annexation was recorded with the Larimer County Clerk and Recorder on December 31,2009 and,accordingly,must now be placed into zoning districts in the City; and WHEREAS, as a part of the process of zoning Phase Three of the Southwest Enclave Annexation and in the interest of sound municipal planning, City staff has recommended to the City Council that certain amendments be made to the City Structure Plan Map to better reflect existing and changed conditions in the area subject to the Phase Three zoning; and WHEREAS,City staff has conducted extensive public outreach with the property owners of the Southwest Enclave Annexation and the Planning and Zoning Board has recommended that the Structure Plan Map amendments proposed by City staff be adopted by the City Council; and WHEREAS,City Council has determined that the proposed Structure Plan Map amendments for Phase Three of the Southwest Enclave Annexation are in the best interests of the citizens of the City; and WHEREAS, City Council has further determined that the City's Structure Plan Map should be amended as shown on Exhibit "A", so that the proposed zoning will comport with the City's Comprehensive Plan, including the City's Structure Plan Map. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1. That the City Council finds that the existing City Structure Plan Map is in need of the proposed amendment for Phase Three of the Southwest Enclave Annexation. Section 2. That the City Council finds that the proposed amendment will promote the public welfare and will be consistent with the vision,goals,principles,and policies of City Plan and the elements thereof. Section 3. That the City Plan Structure Plan Map is hereby amended so as to appear as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
