OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ACCEPTING
A RECO*IENDATION FROM THE DIRECTOR OF PUZLIC WORKS
REGARDING THE INITIATION OF A SPECIAL iMPROVENNEYT
DISTRICT, STATING THE NEED FOR; :T;:E NATURE OF, AND
THE LOCATION OF THE I1\1PROVEMENTS TO BE bL\DE, "'ZSCRIBING
THE AREA TO BE ASSESSED FOR THE SXMM, AND DIRECTING THE
CITY ENGINEER TO PREPARE AND PRESENT TO THE CITY
COUNCIL THE NECESSARY INFORMATION FOR THE FORMATION OF
SAID DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended to the
City Council that a special improvemer:t district be created for the
purpose of installing certain public improvements i3: the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received such recommendation and
desires to continue with the formation of such special improvement
district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS:
Section 1. That the recommendation of the Director of Public
Works is hereby received and accepted.
Section 2. That the improvements to be constructed are the
following: Installation of sidewalks, and curb and gutter when necessary.
and that such improvements are needed in order to provide a safe pedestrian
route of travel along the streets hereinafter described.
Section 3. The location of the improvements to be made is as
follows: On the streets hereinafter listed except any portion of said street
having sidewalk already existing.
(a) The South side of Prospect Street from Sheeley Drive to Shields Street.
(b) The West side of Remington Street from Lake Street to Spring Park-Drive and
the East.side of Remington Street from Lake Street to Prospect.
(c) The East and West sides of Matthew Street from Lai:e Street to Prospect Street.
(d) The North side of Lake Street from Peterson Street to the alley East of Whedbee
Street.
(e) The West side of Whedbee Street from Prospect Street to Pitkin Street.
(f) The West side of Peterson Street from Pitkin Street to Edwards Street.

(g) The North side of Pitkin Street from Peterson Street to Whedbee Street.
(h) The North side of Pitkin Street from Smith Street to Stover Street.
(i) The East side of Whedbee Street from Edwards Street to Garfield Street.
(j) The West side of Smith from Edwards to Garfield.
(k) The East side of Smith from Pitkin to Edwards.
(1) The West side of Stover from Elizabeth to Locust.
(m) The East side of Stover from Locust to Mulberry.
(n) The North side of Myrtle Street from Loomis' Street to Grant Avenue.
(o) The West side of Washington Street from Mulberry Street to Magroli.a Street.
(p) The West side of Washington Street from Woodford Street to Akin Street.
(q) T'he West side of Whitcomb Street from LaPorte Avenue to Maple Street.
(r) The South side of Maple Street from Shields Street to Mason Street.
(a) The North side of Cherry Street from West Street to Wood Street.
(t) The South side of Cherry Street from Wood Street to Meldrum Street.
(u) The South side of LaPorte from Sylvan. to McKinley.
(v) The South side of LaPorte Avenue from Roosevelt Street to Fishback Street.
(w) The South side of Mulberry Street from Cook Drive to Eryan Avenue.
Section 4. The City Engineer is hereby directed to prepare
and present to the Council the following:
A. Preliminary plans and specifications of the improve-
ments proposed.
B. An estimate of the total cost of such improvements,
including the cost of constructing the same, engineering, legal and
advertising costs, interest during construction and until assessments
are. made by ordinance against the properties benefited, and other
incidental costs.
C. A map of the district to be assessed for the cost of
the improvements.
Section S. The City Council hereby finds and determines that
the improvements proposed to be installed on all of the locations
designated under Section 3 above are substantially the same, and such
improvements are to be consolidated into one improvement district to be

but each separate location as designated in Section 3 above shall be
considered as a separate area for the purpose of remonstrance and
assessment.
Passed and adopted at a regular -meeting of the City Council
held this 19th day of August, A. D. 1971.
