OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE
DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS, DIVISION OF
HIGHWAYS, STATE OF COLORADO, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING
COMPUTERIZED SIGNAL SYSTEM EXPANSION
FOR THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins is eligible for State Highway
Department Transportation assistance through the Federal Aid Primary Type
II System (Urban Systems) , and
WHEREAS, the City has apolied for such assistance in connection with a
Computerized Signal System Expansion for the streets of the City of Fort
Collins, and
WHEREAS, the City has submitted initial design data (D 0 H Form 463),
dated April 28, 1981 , to the State setting forth therein preliminary
details, information and estimates of cost of this project (said cost
estimated to be $476,391), which data has been approved by the State,
and
WHEREAS, Federal-aid urban system funds in the amount of $476,391 have
been made available for the preliminary engineering, purchase and instal-
lation of a computerized traffic signal master controller for intercon-
nection of 27 signalized intersections at various locations in Fort Col-
lins, and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to pay all costs associated with said project
in excess of the estimated total cost of $476,391, and
WHEREAS, it is the determination of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins that said project is in the best interest of the City of Fort
Collins
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager and the City Clerk be, and they hereby are,
authorized and directed to enter into and execute agreements between the
City and the State Department of Highways, Division of Highways, State of
Colorado, providing for the installation and construction of computerized
signal system expansion for the City of Fort Collins and further providing
for payment of all costs in excess of $476,391 by the City of Fort Collins
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins field this 16th day of June A D 1981
