OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
LIMITING INDIVIDUAL TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP
TO BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council has established boards and commissions in
order to advise Crty Council and administer certain fuxictions for the
residents of the City of Fort Collins, and
WHEREAS, the rights of the residents of the City of Fort Collins will
best be served by providing all qualified members of the community the
opportunity to serve on boards and commissions, and
WHEREAS, in order to provide this opportunity to all qualified resi-
dents of the City of Fort Collins, it will be necessary to limit individual
terms of membership to said boards and commissions
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS AS FOLLOWS
Section 1 No person will serve on any one board or commission
for more than eight (8) consecutive years (two complete terms) In the
event that an individual fills the unexpired term of a board or commission
member , that unexpired term shall not be counted as a complete term
Section 2 No person will be appointed by City Council to serve
concurrently on more than one board or commission
Section 3 No person will be appointed for membership to any board or
commission who is not a resident of the City of Fort Collins or the
Fort Collins Urban Growth Area
Section 4 The terms of this resolution shall be effective July 1 ,
1981
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 16th day of June, 81
