HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-160-10/04/1983-ACCEPTING A PETITION OF A PROPERTY OWNER REGARDING THE INITIATION OF A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, RESOLLTION 83- 160 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ACCEPTING A PETITION OF A PROPERTY OWNER REGARDING THE INITIATION OF A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, STATING THE NEED FOR THE NATURE OF, AND THE LOCATION OF THE IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE, DESCRIBING THE AREA TO BE ASSESSED FOR THE SAME , AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO PREPARE AND PRESENT TO THE CITY COUNCIL THE NECESSARY INFORMATION FOR THE FORMATION OF SAID DISTRICT WHEREAS, the City Council has received a petition from M Rolle Walker (the "Petitioner" ) , sole property owner in the proposed Landmark Special Improvement District No 80 (the District) requesting that said Council initiate proceedings for the creation of a special improvement district for the purpose of installing certain public improvements in the City, and WHEREAS , the City Council has received the petition , accepts the same, and desires to proceed with the formation of the District NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That the Petition as submitted by the Petitioner requesting the formation of the District is hereb} received and accepted Section 2 That the improvements to be constructed consist of street pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalks , water lines, sanitary sewer lines and storm drainage improvements Such improvements are needed in order to provide adequate access for vehicles and pedestrians to the properties abutting the streets to be improved, and in order to provide utility service to properties within the District Section 3 That the locations of the improvements to be made in the District are as follows A Street improvements to the South half of Prospect Street from the intersection of Shields and Prospect Streets to approximately 228 feet east of the center line of Shields Street, B Street and storm drainage improvements to the east half of Shields Street from approximately 650 feet south of the center line of Prospect to the intersection of Shields and Prospect Streets, C Street, water and sanitary sewer improvements for Hobbit Street, a local street, running 660 lineal feet from the center line of Shields Street to the easternmost boundary of Landmark Subdivision P U D and D Street and storm drainage improvements in the intersection of Shields and Prospect Streets E Storm drainage improvements on property in the District owned by the Petitioner and consisting of a storm drainage importation canal seventy feet (70 feet) in width and running from the western boundary line of said property ad]acent to Shields Street to the eastern boundary of said property Section 4 That the Director of Public Works is hereby directed to prepare and present to the Council the following A Prelininary plans and specifications of the improvements proposed B An estimate of the total cost of such improvements including the cost of constructing the same engineering, legal and advertising costs, interest during construction and until assessments are made by ordinance against the properties benefitted, and other incidental costs C A map of the District to be assessed for the cost of improvements Section 5 That the area to be assessed for the improve- ments described in Section 3 shall be as set forth in the petition heretofore submitted by Petitioner Section 6 That said Improvement District shall be known as The Landmark Special Improvement District No 80 Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 4th day of October , 1983 M o ATTEST City Clerk
