HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-211-12/20/1983-CONCERNING RAW WATER REQUIREMENTS RESOLUTION 83- 211 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS CONCERNING RAW WATER REQUIREMENTS WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins, the East Larimer County (ELCO) Water District, and the Fort Collins-Loveland Water District have organized a Joint steering committee for the purpose of promoting continued cooper- ation between the entities and working together on problems and projects of mutual concern and interest, and WHEREAS, the City, ELCO Water District, and the Fort Collins-Loveland Water District have determined that there is a need to develop more consis- tent and equitable raw water requirements, and WHEREAS, a joint study group consisting of representatives from the three entities have conducted an extensive study resulting in the develop- ment of a more consistent and equitable raw water requirement, and WHEREAS, the new raw water requirement concept has been presented to and approved by the Joint Steering Committee, the Fort Collins Water Board, the ELCO Water District Board, and the Fort Collins-Loveland Water District Board, and WHEREAS, the new raw water requirement concept, as outlined in the "Summary Report on Water Use and Raw Water Requirements for the Fort Collins Area ' , has been presented to the City Council , and WHEREAS, it is the finding of the Council of the City of Fort Collins that it is in the best interest of the community to adopt the new raw water requirement concept as developed by the Joint Steering Committee NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City staff prepare the appropriate ordinance, for con- sideration by the City Council at their regular meeting on January 17, 1984, to implement the proposed new raw water requirement concept Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 20th day of December, 1983 Ma r ATTEST City Clerk
