OF THE MUNC1L OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
SUPPORTING AND REQUESTING THE MNTINUANCE
OF THE LARIbER-IVT:LD 208 PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Larurer-Weld COG has received a Federal Grant to fund a
complete study on now best to comply with the Clean Pater Act of 1972 by develop-
ment and adoption of a Regional Wastewater Management Plan and Water Quality
Program, and
MEREAS, this study and plan is to be completed and filed with the Colorado
Water Quality Control Commission by February 1, 1978, and
WHEREAS, the future water quality, wastewater management and economy of
the entire rural and urban areas of the two counties is dependent on the data and
aocumentation gathered through the 208 Program and submitted to the Colorado
Water Quality Control Commission being accepted and approved, and
WHEREAS, necessary funding for the continuance of the 208 Program through
1978 may not be available
NOW, TIEREIORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the City Council nereby expresses its opinion that the continuance of the
Larvuer weld 208 Program through the 1978 calendar year is essential in protect-
ing water quality and value for historical, present and future uses as well as
the economic welfare of the area
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED tnat the City of Fort Collins strongly recommends to
the Larimer-Weld COG that the necessary funding be provided to continue said 208
Program through the 1978 calendar year
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council this 20th day
of Septenber, A D 1977
