S+ MREA.S, the Soldier Canyon Outlet to Horsetooth reservoir
will be closed from approximately November 1, 1978, through
March 31, 1979; and
UIEMAS, the closing of this outlet will occur because
of work being done on the outlet structure to increase the
c�,apacity of the outlet structure to deliver water to the
City of Fort Collins and other entities receiving waters
through such structure; and
MHMMS, the water treatment plant of the Fort Col.lins-
Imylar+l Water District, the East Tarimer sty, Water District
and the North-Wald Water District is supplied through such
outlet and, therefore, the water treatment plant of those districts
will be unable to receive water for d,crr,parr,on to its users from
its plant during that time; and
MMMS, the City of Fort Collins has a water treatment plant
located on the Cadre la Pouidre River and the closing of the Soldier
Canyon Outlet from Harsetooth Reservoir will not affect that plant;
and
WMO%S, the City of Fort Collins has sufficient capacity during
the time in g• es*,ry+ to supply its own users and treat water for the
districts at its Cache La Poudre plant; and
VaUgWS, it is in the best interests of the City and the entire
Fort Collins area that water service be maintained by the water
districts during the time the Soldier Canyon Outlet from Horsetcoth
Reservoir is closed.
NOW, THEREEOIM, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CMN= OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS that the City Water Utility is authorized to treat water
for the Fort Collins-laveland Water District, the Fast Lmmner sty
Water District and the North-Weld Water District during the period
the Soldier Canyon Outlet from Horsetooth Reservoir is closed, with
the districts to be charged the cost to the City of the water treated;
and
BE IT FZAMR RFSMVED, that the City Manager and the City Clem
be, and they hereby are, authorized to enter into an agreement with
such water districts to provide for treating the districts water in
accordance with this resolution.
