OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
CHANGING THE NAME OF THE LINCOLN COMMUNITY
CENTER TO THE LINCOLN CENTER
WHEREAS, in 1976, upon recommendation of the Cultural Resources Board,
the Council of the City of Fort Collins named the new auditorium/art
complex the Lincoln Community Center, and
WHEREAS, the Cultural Resources Board has recommended that the name be
changed to the Lincoln Center for the following reasons
1 A regional facility which is not limited to the
City of Fort Collins is more attractive to the
state and national granting agencies
2 Common usage has virtually dropped the word
"Community"
3 The logo still fits the name change
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that that certain complex heretofore known as the "Lincoln Commun-
ity Center" be, and the same hereby is, changed to the "Lincoln Center"
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 7th day of October 1980
