OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
RENAMING STAR GAZER DRIVE TO COSMOS LANE
WHEREAS, Star Gazer Drive is located within the Willow Brook Subdivision (aka
Observatory Heights); and
WHEREAS, after the plat for Observatory Heights was approved in 2001, and before
addresses were assigned to properties within said subdivision,City staff noticed that the word"Star
Gazer" conflicted with another street located elsewhere in Larimer County, outside of Observatory
Heights, known as "Stargazer Court"; and
WHEREAS, this duplication of street names was brought to the attention of the developer
of Observatory Heights and the developer agreed to assign the name of Hubble Drive to this portion
of the street, but no administrative action was taken to modify the plan and the change was never
formalized; and
WHEREAS,the use of the name Hubble is no longer appropriate as there is now an existing
"Hubbell Street" located in the Town of Berthoud; and
WHEREAS,the developer has proposed the name Cosmos Lane,and since homes have not
yet been built on this street, the impact to area residents will be minimal; and
WHEREAS,the Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City that the name
"Star Gazer Drive" be changed to "Cosmos Lane'.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the name "Star Gazer Drive", a local residential street within the Willow Brook
Subdivision, is hereby changed to "Cosmos Lane'.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Cou '1 of the City of Fort Col ins this 17th
day of October, A.D. 2006.
