OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR 1983 ELECTRIC RATE REDUCTION
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins purchases all of its wholesale
power and energy requirements from Platte River Power Authority (PRPA),
and
WHEREAS, the retail rates charged by the City to its retail customers
are established on a cost of service basis which includes the cost of
purchased power from PRPA, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of PRPA has approved reductions
in the purchase power rates on July 1, 1983 and is considering reductions
in the purchase power rates on January 1 , 1984, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins Light and Power Utility is pre-
paring a cost of service study scheduled for completion in August, 1983,
and
WHEREAS, certain pertinent information relating to the establishment
of rates will not be available until the end of the 1984 budget process
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the timing of the retail rate reduction program for 1983 will
be for Council to adopt such rates in October, 1983 Such rates will
include the July, 1983 rate reduction by PRPA and any rate reduction
proposed by PRPA for January, 1984
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Light and Power staff will complete
the current cost of service study and that such study will be used as the
basis for rate adjustment recommendations to the Council
