HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-023-02/04/1992-ALLOCATION OF FUNDS BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS POLICY RESOLUTION 92-23 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ESTABLISHING A POLICY WITH REGARD TO THE ROLE OF CITY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS IN THE ALLOCATION OF CITY FUNDS WHEREAS, under Article IV, Section 1 of the City Charter, the Council may, by ordinance prescribing their powers and duties, create boards and commissions; and WHEREAS, Council has considered the advisability of assigning to certain boards and commissions of the City the power to allocate funds appropriated by the Council for various purposes; and WHEREAS, Council believes that, to the extent that boards and commissions of the City are assigned this power and duty, they should function in an advisory capacity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1 . That any boards and commissions of the City which are given the authority to help identify or select the recipients of appropriated City funds, or to otherwise assist in the allocation of any such funds, should function in an advisory capacity by making recommendations to the City Council . Section 2. That this advisory function should be undertaken by boards and commissions only if the power and duty to do so is specifically approved by the Council by ordinance.
