HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-036-03/05/1991-COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY CSU GRANT IGA OFFICE OF ENERGY CONSERVATION RECYCLING PROMOTION RESOLUTION 91-36 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY TO IMPLEMENT A GRANT FOR A RECYCLING PROMOTION AND EDUCATION PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Colorado Office of Energy Conservation (DEC) is distributing $500,000 in Colorado Urban Community Support Program grant money to communities to help fund demonstration recycling projects that exhibit an integrated regional approach to recycling and management of community solid waste; and WHEREAS, the City has been selected to receive a joint grant from the DEC, along with Larimer County, the City of Loveland, the Town of Estes Park and Colorado State University for the funding of a recycling promotion and public education program; and WHEREAS, Colorado State University has agreed to serve as the prime contractor to OEC for purposes of administering the grant; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the City enter into an intergovernmental agreement with Colorado State University to enable the University to provide OEC grant funds to the City, which intergovernmental agreement shall commence on February 1 , 1991 and expire on December 31, 1991 . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and she hereby is, authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with Colorado State University for the purpose of providing OEC grant funds to the City in the sum of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000) for a recycling promotion and public education program. Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held this 5th day of March, A.D. 1991 . Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk
