OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE LEASING OF OFFICE, SHOP,
AND STORAGE SPACE AT THE CITY'S TRANSIT FACILITY
AT 6570 PORTNER ROAD TO CARE-A-VAN, INC. , IN SUPPORT
OF THE PROVISION OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, Care-A-Van, Inc. , provides transportation services to the elderly,
disabled and economically disadvantaged citizens of Fort Collins, which
specialized services are not available through the City's Transfort bus system;
and
WHEREAS, the City desires to provide transportation service to all its
citizens and has previously satisfactorily contracted with Care-A-Van, Inc. , to
furnish this specialized service; and
WHEREAS, Care-A-Van, Inc. , has occupied a portion of the City's Transit
Facility at 6570 Portner Road since it opened in 1984; and
WHEREAS, the City receives rent and operating support for that facility
from Care-A-Van, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, under Section 23-114 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins,
the Council is authorized to lease any and all interests in real property owned
in the name of the City, provided that Council first finds that the lease is
in the best interests of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1 . The Lease Agreement with Care-A-Van, Inc. , is in the best
interests of the City of Fort Collins.
Section 2. That the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into a
Lease Agreement for a term of one (1) year which leases 17,550 square feet of
shop/storage space and 1 ,850 square feet of office space in the City's Transit
Facility at 6570 Portner Road to Care-A-Van, Inc.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 15th
day of January, A.D. 1991 .
