OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ADDING OAK STREET PLAZA PARK TO THE INVENTORY OF CITY PARKS
IN THE 1996 PARKS AND RECREATION POLICY PLAN
WHEREAS, in 1996 the City Council adopted the Parks and Recreation Policy Plan (the
"Policy Plan"), which is intended to provide direction for the development of the City's parks and
recreation system; and
WHEREAS, the Policy Plan includes an inventory of existing parks and identifies general
locations for future parks; and
WHEREAS,Oak Street Plaza Park was developed in approximately 1976,is maintained by
the Parks Department, and serves as a Neighborhood Park in the downtown area, but was not
included in the inventory of parks in the Policy Plan; and
WHEREAS, Oak Street Plaza Park is in need of major renovations, and the Parks
Department is planning to use Neighborhood Parkland Fee money to make the needed
improvements; and
WHEREAS, Oak Street Plaza Park should be added to the inventory of parks in the Policy
Plan in order to clarify its status as a City park and allow for the proper application of park-related
City Code provisions and Neighborhood Parkland Fee money on the site.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the inventory of parks in the Parks and Recreation Policy Plan adopted by the City
Council in 1996 is hereby amended to include Oak Street Plaza Park as a Neighborhood Park.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Cou '1 of the City of Fort Collins this 7th
day of February, A.D. 2006.
