OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE PROPOSED ADJUSTMENT
OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BOUNDARIES AND
ENCOURAGING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ADJUSTMENTS
TO THE URBAN GROWTH AREA BOUNDARIES
WHEREAS, Larimer County, Poudre R-1 Schools, Thompson R2-J, the City of Fort
Collins and the City of Loveland have reviewed the existing School District
boundaries and urban growth area boundaries affecting the Cities of Fort Collins
and Loveland; and
WHEREAS, these interested parties agree that adjustments to these
boundaries would allow for orderly growth in the future and would facilitate good
planning and the efficient use of public resources; and
WHEREAS, the parties also agree that such boundary changes would not
adversely affect the quality of education or the provision of other governmental
services, nor would they create adverse financial burdens on the public; and
WHEREAS the parties agree that such boundary changes would be mutually
beneficial to the citizens of Larimer County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1. That the City supports the adjustment of the School District
boundaries as proposed on the attached Exhibit A.
Section 2. That the City will work cooperatively with the City of Loveland
and Larimer County to develop agreed-upon adjustments to the urban growth area
boundaries.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 19th day of February, A.D. 1991 .
