HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-049-04/06/2004-ADOPTING THE NORTHERN COLORADO REGIONAL MULTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN RESOLUTION 2004-049 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ADOPTING THE NORTHERN COLORADO REGIONAL MULTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN WHEREAS,the City of Fort Collins recognizes the threat that natural hazards pose to people and property within our community; and WHEREAS, undertaking hazard mitigation actions will reduce the potential for harm to people and property from future hazard occurrences; and WHEREAS,an adopted Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan(the"Plan")is required as a condition of future funding for mitigation projects under multiple Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA") pre- and post-disaster mitigation programs; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins is within Latimer County, and fully participated in the mitigation planning process to prepare this Plan; and WHEREAS, the Colorado Office of Emergency Management and FEMA, Region VIII officials have reviewed the Plan and approved it contingent upon official adoption by the participating governments and entities. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1. The Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan, dated July 2003, developed by the City of Fort Collins, Latimer County, the City of Loveland and the City of Greeley, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted as the City of Fort Collins'official plan. Section 2. That Latimer County, the City of Greeley, and the City of Loveland are authorized to submit this Resolution to the Colorado Office of Emergency Management and Federal Emergency Management Agency,Region VIII officials in furtherance of their effort to secure final approval of the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan.
