OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE LEASE OF A PORTION OF
THE CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AT
250 NORTH MASON STREET, FORT COLLINS, COLORADO
FOR UP TO TWO YEARS
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins (the "City") is the owner of property known as the
Downtown Transit Center ("Center") located at 250 North Mason Street, Fort Collins, Larimer
County, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, the Center is operating as a central multi-modal facility; and
WHEREAS, the City has been leasing a portion of the Center consisting of a 190 square
foot office space, an outdoor storage locker and the use of an outdoor bus stop area (the
"Premises") to Greyhound Lines, Inc. ("Greyhound") for the purpose of providing over the road
transportation; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to continue leasing the Premises to Greyhound for a term of
up to two years, at an annual rent of at least $3,552;
WHEREAS, under Section 23-114 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins, the City
Council is authorized to lease any and all interests in real property owned in the name of the
City, provided that Council first finds that the lease is in the best interests of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby finds that leasing the portion of the Center
under the terms listed above is in the best interests for the City of Fort Collins.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a negotiated Lease
Agreement for the Premises, consistent with the terms of this Resolution, together with such
additional terms and conditions as the City Manager, in consultation with the City Attorney,
determines to be necessary and appropriate to protect the interests of the City.
