HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-160-09/20/1994-DISABILITIES SENIOR FARES TRANSFORT RESOLUTION 94-160 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ELIMINATE TRANSFORT SENIOR FARES FOR PERSONS SIXTY YEARS AND OLDER AND DISABLED FARES FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 1994 WHEREAS, the City presently charges a fare to seniors for the use of the City's Transfort system and also charges a fare to persons with disabilities as determined by the City for use of the Transfort system; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to encourage greater use of the Transfort system by seniors and by persons with disabilities; and WHEREAS, the elimination of Transfort fares for seniors and persons with disabilities will encourage such persons to use the City's Transfort system and will likely decrease their use of the City's paratransit system; and WHEREAS, the Council finds that it is in the best interests of the City to eliminate Transfort fares for seniors and persons with disabilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that effective.-October 1 , 1994, all fares being charged to persons sixty (60) years of age or older and all fares being charged to persons with disabilities for use of the City's Transfort system shall be eliminated and such persons shall be entitled to use the City's Transfort system at no cost.
