HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-017-01/18/1994-BOARD OF DIRECTORS GERRY HORAK PLATTE RIVER POWER AUTHORITY RESOLUTION 94-17 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS FILLING A VACANCY FOR THE CITY'S APPOINTED DIRECTOR ON THE PLATTE RIVER POWER AUTHORITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHEREAS, the Platte River Power Authority ("the PRPA") was created by an agreement between the cities of Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont and the Town of Estes Park, (the "Organic Contract," which was amended and restated as of March 31, 1980) ; and WHEREAS, under the Organic Contract, the PRPA Board of Directors is comprised of two members from each of the four member cities, with one such member to be the Mayor of each municipality (or another member of the municipality's governing body designated by the Mayor) and the other to be another individual selected by the municipality's governing body for "judgment, experience and expertise which makes (him/her) particularly qualified to serve as the Director of an electric utility" ; and WHEREAS, on June 1, 1993, the Council adopted Resolution 93-81 removing the City's previously appointed representative to the PRPA Board of Directors and appointing Councilmember Bob Winokur to fill the vacancy created by such removal ; and WHEREAS, Councilmember Winokur was to serve as the City's appointed representative on the PRPA Board until December 31, 1996, or until such appointment is changed by the City Council , whichever first occurs; and WHEREAS, Councilmember Winokur resigned from the City Council effective January 4, 1994; and WHEREAS, the Council wishes to appoint an individual to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Councilmember Winokur from the City Council ; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that its appointed member of the PRPA Board should continue to be a member of the City Council . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that Gerry Horak be appointed as the City's appointed representative to the PRPA Board of Directors to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Councilmember Bob Winokur from the City Council , for a term to run until December 31, 1996, or until such appointment is changed by the City Council , whichever first occurs. Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the r4ty of Fort Collins held this 18th day of January, A.D. 199 or ATTEST: City Clerk
