OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING A CITY REPRESENTATIVE TO SERVE
ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE FORT COLLINS
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION FOR THE
PURPOSE OF REPRESENTING THE CITY'S INTEREST IN
FURTHERING THE REVITALIZATION OF THE
CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT
WHEREAS, a consortium of four banks in the city intend to establish a
Bank Community Development Corporation ("CDC") for the purpose of
stimulating private reinvestment in downtown Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, a CDC is chartered under the auspices of the Comptroller of
the Currency ("OCC") and must serve a public purpose in accordance with the
activities permitted by the OCC; and
WHEREAS, the CDC program must benefit low and moderate income
areas/residents and/or small businesses and should address agreed-upon
community goals and needs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best
interest of the citizens of the city that there be appointed a City
representative to serve on the board of directors of the CDC for the
purpose of ensuring that the interests, goals and needs of the City, and
the public generally, are reflected in the deliberations and determinations
of the CDC board of directors; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has further determined that the appointment
of a representative to the board of directors of the CDC will help to
assure that the public purpose of the corporation is safeguarded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Loren Maxey hereby is authorized to serve as the City's
representative to the board of directors of the Community Development
Corporation.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 17th day of October, A. 1989.
